What this site collects
When you visit joelmturner.com, limited technical information may be recorded to keep the site running and to understand how it is used:
- Page views — anonymized visit counts via GoatCounter (production only)
- Error reports — client-side errors sent to Sentry in production to help fix bugs
- Hosting logs — standard request logs from Netlify (IP address, browser, pages requested, timestamps)
This is a static personal site. There is no account system and no forms that collect email or other personal details on the public site.

Embedded YouTube players and third-party font requests are only loaded when you visit pages that use them.
Cookies and local storage
- GoatCounter may set a session cookie to distinguish unique visits. See GoatCounter’s privacy documentation for details.
- Theme preference is stored in your browser’s
localStorage(light/dark mode) and is not sent to a server. - This site does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
You can block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect analytics counting but should not prevent you from reading the site.
What we do not do
- Sell or rent visitor data
- Run targeted advertising
- Require an account to browse the site
- Knowingly collect information from children under 13
